You may be wondering, "what is the difference between hair henna and skin or body art henna?" Body art quality henna (BAQ henna) is the highest quality henna available and can be used on BOTH skin and hair. Hair henna is a lower grade henna that may or may not contain chemicals and metallic salts. If you are serious about using a natural product on your hair, you should only use BAQ henna powder.
The Color of Henna
Henna is red. Any henna labeled as any other color is mixed with something else and may not contain henna at all. Henna is a transparent dye, so it will NOT lighten your hair. Just like henna on the skin, henna uses the color of the hair as its color base.
If you have white blond or gray hair, you will get a super bold red color.
If you have light brown hair, you will get a brown/auburn color.
If you have dark brown or black hair, you will get glossy red highlights in the sun. Get other colors like black and browns by mixing BAQ henna with indigo!
With BAQ henna and indigo, your hair will have glossy natural looking highlights and lowlights. They cover gray beautifully and naturally!
